A very tight encounter between two competitive teams battling for third position in the league.

The game started with both teams sharing some good possession but neither side were able to create any clear chances.

The game flowed from end to end with small chances started to be created by both, however the keepers were still not tested with anything of note.

This was an open attractive game to watch. United pressed and Rougham did well considering that some of their players were struggling to keep up.

There was some confusion which arose after an appeal for hand ball. This was disputed, but it seemed that there was then some uncertainty concerning the correct procedure to follow in these circumstances. Once the team leaders intervened and sorted things out, the teams moved on. Well done to both teams.

It wasn’t until right at the very end that the first clear cut chance was created. Some quick passing from Rougham lead to a precise pass from Andrew Olvera to set up prolific goal scorer Grant Henderson. He snatched the 1-0 win with a deflected shot which sent the keeper the wrong way.

A defeat was going to be a harsh for whichever team lost this match. 72 United will know they could have got something from this game. They kept the ball well but just weren’t able to create the necessary chances.
