The First division got under way with a match between the teams that finished joint first in the league.

On this occasion, the spoils went to FSFC who gave an outstanding performance to record their first victory of the season against the Red’s.

This match which was played in a very good spirit. The Grey’s looked dangerous throughout and dominated the match with their varied play and their passing and movement. At the other end Rougham, though struggling with injuries, fought well. They hit a post, but in the main, the Red’s lacked the necessary inventiveness to find a way to break through.  Rougham’s goalkeeper Ollie Chaplin couldn’t have asked for a more difficult debut, but he made a number of excellent saves, notably from Luke Nicholl to restrict FSFC to three goals.

George Day gave the Grey’s the lead, when he coolly scored from the penalty spot after Gary Chenery had fouled Freddie McCracken. Jack Prentice scored the Grey’s second with a clinical finish from just outside the area, before George Day wrapped things up with a fantastic run and shot to score from long range.
