Rougham’s season kicked off with surprise set back. There are certain to be a few raised eyebrows at the result of this match.

It was a good end to end match.  United took risks and looked sharp from the start. Perhaps this was due the sheer number of pre-season friendlies that they had been involved in. Rougham on the other hand intially looked a little rusty and took some time to get into their stride.

United will be overjoyed with this result, they matched Rougham throughout and didn’t sit back to play out the win once they had scored.

Not to take anything away from Rougham. This was a tricky first match for them. As usual the Red’s played some good quality football, with Callum Macintyre a constant threat on the wing. But this was to be United’s evening. They held strong even when they were on the back foot and were dangerous on the counter.

To sum up, a well fought game. There were a couple of minor niggles,  but overall honesty and good fellowship were shown by all.
